Tell us something about your career at Kiekert.
Marco T.: With pleasure. I started as an intern in the sales team in July 2015 and completed my bachelor’s degree in 2016. Afterward, I was allowed to support the team full-time. I was able to take on project tasks independently at an early stage and quickly develop both professionally and personally.
Did you feel particularly supported by anyone?
Marco T.: Yes, my manager at the time was always at my side right from the start with his many years of customer and sales experience, and quickly developed into my mentor. When he took on new challenges within the company, I was asked if I would like to take over the management of the team. This came along with many new and exciting tasks, which motivated me enormously.
What makes working at Kiekert special for you?
Marco T.: Every project is individual and special in its way. Due to the fast pace of the industry, you must be flexible and adapt to new circumstances. This makes the work varied, so no two days are the same. You are regularly challenged by unexpected and new situations. The flat hierarchies at Kiekert make it possible to drive change and play an active role in shaping the company.
How do you feel about the change in perspective as a manager now promoting employees yourself?
Marco T.:Let’s put it this way: I have gained a new perspective on many situations…
What are you looking forward to at Kiekert in the future?
Marco T.: Kiekert is growing and developing. I am delighted to be part of this process. And, of course, the automotive industry is undergoing a very interesting transformation. I want to continue to play an active role in shaping this change.
